The burial register refers to James as ‘settled to this place’, and to Elizabeth & Anne as being ‘of Reading’. The second s in the surname appears between 1747 & 1784

A grave stone built into the exterior of the south transept records Thomas Burgess died 1752 (6/10) aged 70(?) and his wife Elizabeth died 1768 (8/4)
The burial register also shows an Elizabeth Burgess accidentally drowned aged 70 and died 18/8/1830
(Until 1752 the year number changed on 25th March. Ages appear in the burial register after 1813.)
