We began this project in church yesterday (4th November) with members of our congregation at our services. This morning children and staff at St Mary’s School also participated in creating our ‘Poppy Cascade’, which when completed will be suspended in church in time for the Remembrance Day service on Sunday 11th November. Every child had an opportunity to add their own poppy with assistance also from the staff and particularly Mrs Warkup. Many thanks to Mr Gallagher for enabling this to happen and for the enthusiasm of the staff and children as we continued creating this ‘Poppy Cascade’ together. There is still space for more poppies to be added and if any parent or other members of the community would like to do so, just drop into church for the rest of today, Tuesday or Wednesday to add your poppy so that the ‘Cascade can become a whole community tribute for this special Commemoration this year for Remembrance Day.
